The clouds made no effort to obscure the moon tonight on the old, worn battlefield. A lone, dark skinned man sat in the field, the grass whispering around him in the light breeze. Thought it was quiet, he was painfully aware of the soldiers in the surrounding thicket. He scowled, eyes tired and half lidded. Wafa had been waiting a good while, defended against two charges of soldiers already. On his third day...he was faltering. His body was tired his mind had been adequately tried. He was hanging on his last thread.

Where was Jahala? The insane woman must have got herself caught. It was the only reason she wouldn't be here. Her horse was fast, well trained. And most of all, liked Wafa better. They would have been here by now. So it was up to him to get them out of this terrible mess the woman had started? Of course it was. It always was. And a little voice in the back of his head said that when they'd been offered gold pieces for the head of a reigning noble, it would be the exact same. They'd tried, and valiantly at that. Or stupidly, considering two desert elven mercenaries against the odds of the noble of Alberoth and his militia.

Wafa jumped slightly, hearing a twig crack. Probably under foot. Amber shaded eyes snapped to attention, scanning the area around him. He'd already sighted the commander once, who was quick and smart to hide his visage. This one was persistent though. The last two attacks, were easily fended off. Scared off more like. It seems this time the Royals had sent a commander worth his grit here. Their wary stares were wise though. They knew the pale haired Wafa's earned title, the Soul Symphony. And they knew damn well why he had it.

He crouched down farther, his shape hidden in the thicket as he watched his prey with intense eyes.
It had been three days now, and he could tell the Elf's powers were dwindling. Everyone tired out eventually, and he had been waiting, observing.

Just by watching the body language, he could tell that his foe's body ached. However, he could also assume that the other man knew he was there. He knew he was somewhere out there, hiding under the growth of plant life and waiting to strike. The question was, was he ready to face the attack? Or was he far too exhausted to complete anything that could be considered defensive? Still, the enemy could never be underestimated. Ever.

He did have the upper hand though, in his opinion anyway. There was plenty of soldiers still to spare, and only one of him. To make him feel even more comforted, he knew all his men had their eyes on him, waiting anxiously for their permission to strike. A smirk was playing at his lips. He'd have this whole thing sorted out before the sun had a chance to peek out over the mountains.

After a moment or two of still silence, he raised his hand up in a flicking motion and in the blink of an eye, all the soldiers were out from the underbrush, charging at the elf simultaneously. He'd use this as his chance to sneak farther towards him, hidden under the protection of the night. He'd capture him while his back was turned and his attention was wafted away like the breeze.
He knew he could.
((Hope that wasn't too terrible. I know I said I wouldn't post, but I wanted to surprise you I guess. xD; I haven't had much experience with forums, but I'll try to get used to it. ;v; ))

Another wave of men. It was a small group, something he might be able to take care of with mediocre magics. In the rush of it however, his immediate reaction was to begin another Rising. He quickly pursed his lips, a shrill whistle emanating from them as he worked his magics. The force of it seemed to disturb the ground around him, or rather, that something below was disturbing the earth, yearning for the cool night air above.

And finally it made itself known, decayed corpse hands clawing pitifiully out of the ground to latch onto the ankles of soldiers, in hopes of using them as leverage to make it to the living world once more.

"Get back...!" the elven man ordered, pointing at the men.

He watched from his hiding spot but a mere few feet away from the elf as his soldiers screamed and wailed. He couldn't blame them, there were zombies sprouting up from the ground. However, he didn't have the time to feel pity. He was on a mission, one that he intended to finish swiftly so the entire thing was over with, and so he didn't have to deal with the royal family screaming at him to get the job done any longer.

He moved swiftly through the trees and bushes, any sounds he might have made from stepping on the crisp forest ground obscured by the blood curdling screams of his men. Just a bit longer, just a few more feet, and he would have him.

Positioning himself so he was a little ways off behind the elf, he unsheathed his sword and sprouted out from the thicket of the night, making a beeline right for him. His sword was held at his side as he ran, poised to strike if necessary. Once he was only an inch away, he tried his best to grab the hand of the elf and twist it behind his back, as well as place the sword at his throat in one fine motion. It was dark however, and he could only make assumptions as to what he was actually doing correctly.

Though there was plenty of chaos in front of him to occupy him, the crunch of leaves and shifting of grass behind him was enough for the elf to whip around, just in time to see the commander ready for assault. He ducked down low, silver hair still following his last movements as he darted aside, and past the soldier. They were getting clever now, and he needed to make his way out of this forest.

Though a wall of soldiers surrounded the area, they served as little to no use against the man's quick feet, as he dove down again, darting between their feet and towards freedom...if possible.

A low, frustrated growl left his lips as the elf had managed to escape. He watched him dip and dive so effortlessly between his soldiers, which made him even more enraged.

"What are you doing, you morons?!" he bellowed, "Don't just stand there, get him!"

His anger only grew from there as the other men continued to wail, far too preoccupied with the task of getting the undead off of their shoes than anything else. He watched, dumbfounded, for only a few more moments before he clenched and unclenched his fists, screeching out yet another angered cry.

"Useless bastards, the lot of you! Out of my way!" was the last order he gave before springing forward, shoving the soldiers roughly to the sides. He only paused once, simply to turn and right up kick a zombie in the face when it had decided it would grab hold of his ankle. Once he was free, he booked it back into the forestry, shoving branches from his face as he crashed through the thicket.

He glanced from side to side frantically, furiously. Finally, he took the time to regain both his breath and composure. He listened intently to the silence of the night, waiting for even the tiniest crunch of a leaf. He was back on the hunt again, and he refused to fail this time.

Wafa found himself picking up his pace as he heard the commander's enraged cries. It was by no means a reassuring sound, and the soldier seemed far more competent than a cluster of men who were so easily frightened by mere corpses.

He could only keep running, as far as his tired, weary body would take him. The last few days had taken their toll on him harshly, and would likely end the chase before it started. Still...

The elf was not one for stealth, more distance and longevity, with was also failing him in this moment. If he could just outrun the damned commander.

Standing still in between the bushes and trees, he waited silently. It didn't take long to pinpoint the whereabouts of the elf, for he could hear the crashing and snapping of bushes just a little ways off. It was either him, or an angry bear. He doubted the second option, and even if it was he refused to let some over sized fuzzball get in his way.

He dashed forward towards the sound of the chaos, dodging and sweeping past bushes and trees so as not to lose his footing. He felt himself getting closer and closer towards his goal, he could almost see the look on the elf's face as he was brought down to his knees, begging for mercy.

He licked his chapped lips with a sadistic glint in his eye.

"You're mine." He murmured to himself as he ran.

The elf's sensitive ears picked up on the brief murmur, pricking slightly in attention.

"I don't think so." he muttered back to himself, continuing on his way. His legs burned and complained, aching desperately from standing his ground for so long. He'd tried to sleep those two days surrounded by soldiers, but every time he slipped off, the soldiers crept closer and closer...until the elf awoke with a start, casting them off with magicks and scrambling to his feet.

This time however, it didn't seem like his luck was so great this time along...as the edge of a deep hill approached...

He continued to push himself, coming up upon the elf with speed driven by mainly determination, and maybe a little bit of rage. He was only just a few feet away from him, so close, and yet so far. He Pumped his arms, his fists clenched tightly as he pushed forward, growling through muffled gasps for breath. He was far too old for this shit.

He followed the sound of feet crunching against leaves and underbrush, and soon enough could make out the shape that was scampering furiously away from him. He grinned sadistically, his sanity slowly draining away with the thrill of the hunt. He could see the parts where night twisted and swiveled, becoming their own separate form under the moonlight.

His breath was lost now, his lungs screaming for a moment of relaxed breath. He still had to deny them however, his mind bent on getting away. He couldn't allow himself to be caught, not now. Especially not by the frantic man behind him, who sounded far too joyful in the chase. It wasn't something he wanted to confront...

Though fate determined he should, as he skidded to a halt at the edge of the hill, a relatively lengthy angled drop below it. Damn.

"No..." he whipped his head back around to face his pursuer, amber eyes wide. Not good.

The form skidded to a stop, for no reason. Perhaps he was getting his breath back? Thinking of a quick plan? Sneaky little bastard, that was exactly what that elf was doing. The commander curled his upper lip in a snarl. That simply wouldn't do, and he'd be damned if he gave him enough time to even say a word.

Dashing forward, he tried his best to keep his footing, just enough so he had decent ground to lunge from. Once he was nearly a foot away, the commander let out a wicked laugh of triumph as he soared off the ground in a wild leap, hands outstretched and at the ready to grab, drag, and hold steady.

"I've got you now, you little bastard!" He shouted as he felt the fabric of the elf's clothing clutched in his hands. He wrapped, and held on tightly with his arms. He had him, he had him, and he was far too busy to notice the steep hill that they would be inevitably tumbling down in a matter of seconds...

As he stumbled backwards, the commanders hands clutching his clothing desperately, he looked behind him briefly and forward again into the man's eyes, a dull expression of exasperation upon it.

"You sure did. Happy now?" asked before they fell backwards together, over the edge of the cliff, landing hard on the slanted earth below. The incline simply too steep, they continued to fall downwards, and Wafa took this opportunity to attempt to struggle out of the other man's grasp.

The commander blinked, eyes widening as he felt the two bodies begin to plummet down something steep. He kept a firm hold onto the elf, perhaps a little firmer than he originally intended, as he glanced forward and made out the general shape of the steep hill, and just how far they were going to fall. He could also make out all the branches and trees that grew conveniently on the drop off. He didn't have the time the cringe as he imagined the himself rolling down the hill clutching at the elf for dear life. This was going to hurt.

"Oh, fuck me." Was all he could muster before he was sent rolling down the steep ledge, cursing every time he felt a particularly sharp branch cut through his clothing and slice into his skin. He never loosened his hold on the elf however. In a sense, if he was going down, he intended to bring the enemy with him.

Wafa scoffed at his curse, a yelp of pain emanating from him as they crashed into the earth, tumbling down the hill together, brambles and sharp bushes showing no sympathy to their plight as they crashed down the incline, the edges clawing up his sides and shoulders without pause.

Luckily the end of the hill was soon...

He felt the pace of their bodies begin to slow, and he could only assume that they were reaching the end of this hell ride. His body tossed and turned a few more times, every bit of movement sending out a throb of pain where the branches had mercilessly sliced him. Areas of his clothing were torn and shredded, the particles of bare skin shining crimson from the blood beginning to seep out.

Quickly, he sat up and threw himself at his target once more, this time trying to pin him down to the ground. He needed to immobilize him, possibly even knock him out if necessary.

As he thought over all the possible strategies in his head, he made a desperate grasp towards the elf's wrists. He squeezed roughly, pressing them hard against the ground a little ways over his head. Pursing his lips, he let out a fierce snarl.

"Don't move, or you'll regret the day you were ever born, little shit."

"Oh shove it up your ass...augh..." he groaned unpleasantly as he arched his back, trying to eliminate the horrid feeling that maybe something was displaced.

"Get off me you ape. I hurt." he demanded, his silvery hair pooled around his head and amber eyes looking up angrily at him.

The commander blinked, staring down at him with bewildered eyes. No one dared talk back to him, and now this elf decided he would? Did he even realize what sort of situation he was in?
He couldn't help but let out a low chuckle.

"And how can I guarantee you're not going to just run off like you did the last time, hmm?" he asked with genuine curiosity that wasn't actually there.

"You can't. Because I'm not staying here." he stated bluntly. "You're acting as if I'm going to stop struggling." he continued, raising a pale eyebrow at him.

"Well I'm not. In fact as soon as you get off me, I'm fucking off. You should get ready for that part." he advised, sarcasm heavy on his voice. The smallest hint of an accent was laid there, Arabian. Though he have the hair of a moon elf, his heritage of desert elvish blood was very clear in his dark, bronzed skin and way of speech.

Now that the Commander was close enough, under the moonlight, his features were vaguely recognizable. He had dark auburn hair, that reflected off from the light of the moon in a reddish hue. It was originally combed back, but what with all the running he had to endure, it was slightly out of place.

His facial features were mostly obscure, but he had two lovely emerald eyes, and a scar on the corner of his mouth that reached up past his lips and just barely stopped at his cheekbone. There was also another long, slender scar that touched across his face and nearly divided it into two separate sections, if it didn't end at his right eye.

He was currently sneering down at the elf.
"Feisty little thing, aren't you? Well, I'll just have to break you." He chuckled, the faintest hint of irish slipping off his tongue as he spoke. He sat up, grabbing a handful of the elf's silver hair and pulling it roughly as he stood up.

A screech of pain emanated from the elven man as he was hoisted up by his hair.

"STOP IT! IT HURTS!" he exclaimed noisily, clawing desperately at the man's hands to hopefully get him to release him.

The sneer widened, the screech coming off as music to the Commander's ears. He didn't let go however, only yanked harder.
"Oh, I'm sorry? Serves you right for being a little brat. Soon you'll learn that when I say something, I mean it.." he leaned in, his voice a harsh whisper against the long elfish ears. "And I show no mercy."

With another wail of pain the elf let go of the offending hand and instead threw a punch upward, to rock the man's jaw.

"GEDDOFF."

He let out a grunt of pain as he felt the elf's fist make contact with his jaw. Recoiling, he released the long lovely white locks to hold the now bruised part of his face.
He cursed under his breath and looked down, glaring coldly at him before sending a fist towards his cheekbone.

The small elf ducked again, the blow just barely skirting his pale hair as he pushed the commander away.

"Back off! At least don't grab my fucking hair!" he screamed, holding his head, small tears of pain welling his in eyes, though his anger was clear. He was by no means breaking down, but with hair this long...yeah it hurt.

"And chill out! I know it's shitty to fall down a hill, but believe me it's shittier to be me!" he crabbed at him, his complaining seeming to be endless.
